About the Kyoto Kitayama Brass Band
Hello everyone, this is the Kyoto Kitayama Brass Band
The Kyoto Kitayama Brass Band was established through the efforts of its current representative in April of 1999, and has been active for fourteen years.
At present (March 2012) there are forty-eight members spanning several generations, most members have their own daytime jobs, while the youngest members are high school students and the oldest are in their fifties.
Every year we hold several concerts in the region, there is our regular concert "The Kitayama Spring Concert" every year in March, the Summer Brass Band Concours, and other concerts within Kyoto prefecture held by the General Band Association. In 2011, we played eight concerts.
We aim to be a band that does not just enjoy performances, but each and every rehearsal.
Therefore, we try to get the best out of every rehearsal, and try to become and sound like one.
We would like to convey this passion to our audience.
And we also want to be a band people can keep playing in their entire lives.
