JAPAN MEDIA ARTS FESTIVAL in KYOTO
PARALLEL WORLD, KYOTO Manga category
Art, entertainment, animation, and manga are all forms of media art. The Ministry of Culture has since 1997 organized the Japan Media Arts Festival, which has as its aim to provide opportunities to both honor and appreciate these wonderful media arts. Starting last year, to give the event more exposure in the Kansai area, exhibitions of and events about the winning entries are organized.
Here, "Historie", the winning entry of the 14th winner of the Japan Media Arts Festival, Manga category, is exhibited. We are showing six full color covers, and an installment of the manga in black and white.
At the same time, there will be an event and exhibition showing the work of contemporary artist Mr. Kawachi Koshi, who grows vegetables in a bed of manga pages. The Japan Media Arts Festival Kyoto Exhibition "Parallel World Kyoto" will later also be held in the Kyoto Art Center, the Kyoto Museum, the Kyoto National Museum of Art, and Gallery PARC. We hope you will enjoy them all.
