Exhibition Contents
It is no exaggeration to say that the dynamism of the anime works by Gainax has set the trends in the anime industry. Thanks to a wealth of material and exhaustive date we are able to exhibit everything from the moment a project is born, to the process of how the contents grow when the announcement of a work transforms into a huge market.
Here you can find the real site of anime production, something you'll never see in business or textbooks!
Basically, we are showing the production order to make an entire work. In this exhibition, we would like visitors to see the management power it takes to support people and technique and creation.

About Gainax
The root of Gainax was born in 1981, during a Japanese SciFi Convention held by a group of students in Osaka. Director Yasuhiro Takeda served as the head of the board of directors and legendary creators like Hiroyuki Yamaga, Hideaki Anno and Takami Akai gathered there, and their opening animation, a work they had started from scratch, became legend too because of its amazing quality. After the convention, they continued to work as an amateur video production group and challenged other genres like live action special effects. Through trial and error, they built Gainax's unique "personality". Their first commercial work was the theatre release of the fulllength animated feature "Royal Space Force", and during production the company Gainax was established. This work, under the direction of Yamaga, features elite staff members, music by Ryuichi Sakamoto and character design by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, and it revolutionized the anime market for children. Gainax's next works, Director Anno's directly to video animation "Aim for the Top!" and the TV animated series "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water", gained them many more fans, and the famous work "Neon Genesis Evangelion" developed into one of the biggest cultural and societal phenomena of the twentieth century. Today, Gainax works on projects and production focusing on animation, as well as developing and selling software exhaustively covering digital media, as well as event planning, live action films, and other new businesses. They continue to create, not for the company, but considering what is best for the works, making their own way and carrying on the Gainax spirit.
