SKETCHTRAVEL: Workshop

Let's make a picture book!

During this workshop, participants can each draw one page for a picture book in which a cat, created by Daisuke Tsutsumi, one of the proponents of the SKETCHTRAVEL project, is the main character.

The models are the works of the artists from around the world who participated in SKETCHTRAVEL. We will focus on three ways of creating pictures: pencil, water color, and collage.

While learning how to use these methods, you can draw one page of a picture book.

*Because the finished works will become part of a picture book, you cannot take them home.

The story of Mr. Cat

We would like each participant to draw one of the many worlds Mr. Cat travels in, in the sketchbook Mr. Cat loves. He always carries it with him. However, one day he lost this important sketchbook, and the sketchbook travelled to many places all over the world. So Mr. Cat went on a trip to recover his sketchbook! Where did you find the sketchbook, and what color was it? In the forest? In someone's home? Maybe, above the clouds? Let's go on a trip with Mr. Cat.
