Manga and Board Games Exhibition

In recent years, the popularity of board games has surged worldwide. With many types of board games created each year around the world.
The Kyoto International Manga Museum is setting up a special display featuring manga that depict games such as board games, card games including trump and UNO, and tile games including shogi and mahjong. A panel exhibition will also be held to explore the history of games and manga, with a focus on board games.
As distinct from computer games, please take this opportunity to experience the appeal of analog games through manga.

Content

Mini exhibition
With a focus on board games, this exhibition explores how various games have been related to manga, through panel displays and actual artifacts.

Feature shelves
A special display shelf will showcase approximately 150 books, including manga about playing board games, card games, and tile games, as well as comics adaptations of stories set within board games.

About the Board Game Business Expo (BGBE) Japan

One of the largest board game events in Western Japan, this event promotes the appeal of board games and actively fosters international exchange. The 2025 event attracted approximately 10,000 attendees, and the next event is scheduled to take place at INTEX Osaka on Saturday, January 31st and Sunday, February 1st, 2026.
