A variety of limited-time offer programs related to manga are held under the 3 categories ‘MM Workshop’ (held irregularly) which anyone can readily participate in, ‘Group Workshops’ which cater for groups of 5 people or more (advance reservation and additional fee required), and ‘Premium Workshop’ which provide personal tutoring tailored to your desires (advance reservation and additional fee required).
From hands-on experiences using professional manga art supplies, to creating characters, etc. these workshops allow participants to experience the charms of manga from the aspect of ‘making’ it.

Group Workshops
At the Kyoto International Manga Museum, we can hold workshops for groups (more than 5 people) who come on a field trip, students who visit as a part of a class, or for young children. Please find out more from the workshops list. There are different workshops available. See below for details.
・Advance reservation is necessary.
・Workshop fee is required, in addition to your entrance fee to the Museum. (Admission fees)
・We may not be able to meet your requirements.
・There is a minimum charge for workshops, and bookings can only be accepted for workshops of 5 or more participants. However, in cases where there are less than 5 members in your group, it is still possible to schedule a workshop if you pay the fee for 5 people. Please contact us with details of your group situation.
・Up to 20 people can participate at one time. If there are more than 20 participants, the workshop will be divided into multiple sessions.
・The payment method for the workshop is cash only, to be paid on the day of the workshop.
・The workshops are conducted in Japanese, an interpreter will be required if you wish to participate using another language.
・Depending on the amount of participants, the duration of the workshops may become shorter or longer.
・It is possible that your clothes will get soiled.

MM Commemorative Badge!!
In this workshop participants will make can badges from their own drawing.
You’ll draw a picture in pen or pencil, then the badge is made using a purpose-built machine.
The machine is operated by staff, so even young children can safely take part.
We have prepared some original designs so you can also enjoy the workshop by just coloring in and adding your own message, so it’s also great for people who might not be so good at drawing!
Please come along to make your very own lovely can badge.

Manga Artist Experience (inking)
Museum staff will carefully guide you through an in-depth knowledge of manga, from drawing techniques such as inking and how to use a G-pen, and tips on how to draw characters, to explanations of manga 'manpu' (symbols and signs) which express the characters' feelings.
※Recommended for elementary school students and above. Anyone from children to adults can participate.
※For children who are below elementary school year 4, we will provide pens that are easier to draw with.

People who want to draw manga characters. People who want to learn how to use special manga art supplies such as the G-pen. People who want to learn about manga.
