Kyoto International Manga Museum open under the restrictions outlined below due to COVID-19.
Service changes
The following will temporarily be subject to closure and suspension of performances, etc.
・Kamishibai (picture show) →We will hold the Kamishibai performance at 11am and 14pm. The venue will be temporarily relocated to the Children’s library or Ground.
・Workshop →Group workshop reservations have resumed. Please refer to this page for information regarding reservatons.
・Children’s library →It will be open again from October 12 (Mon). However, it is not allowed to go into the library barefoot and everyone who uses the library must wear socks. Also, the small chairs in the library can only be used during Kamishibai (Japanese style picture show) performances.
・Portrait corner →It will temporarily only operate on Saturdays and Sundays, and national holidays.
・Research reference room →Temporarily reduced seating for up to 4 visitors.
Restrictions on visitor numbers
In order to prevent the spread of the virus due to a high number of visitors at one time, we may temporarily restrict entry to the museum. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
The museum shop and café
These museum shop will be open during normal operating hours and the museum café will be open 10:00 – 18:00. We have prepared measures to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
