On June 8, 2024, Sasaya Nanaeko, passed away.

Sasaya entertained numerous readers with her manga in various genres, from comedy to mystery. Her manga was known for its detailed psychological portraits and beautiful drawings but at the same time, from her manga, we can find critical messages that make us think about the society and the world.

Sasaya was a really important person for us, as she participated in the Genga’ (Dash) project of the manga museum and she also taught students at Kyoto Seika University. We would like to express our sincerest condolences and gratitude to Sasaya Nanaeko for her great work.

We will continue to let the world know the fascination of her work and the messages that she left in her manga, through Genga’ (Dash) and her manga.
