L Event LISTEN Talk ShowThere was a manga artist in Osaka called Sakai Shichima 2016年10月23日(日) To commemorate this exhibition, manga artist Yanagi Takao, who was Shichima's "last pupil", and manga researcher Nakano Haruyuki, the author of 'The Legend of the Enigmatic Manga Artist Sakai Shichima' (Nazo no manga-ka Sakai Shichima den) which formed the basis of this exhibition, have been invited to hone in on the real-life image of Shichima.
L Exhibition SEE A master artist and pupil pivotal to the Kansai pre-war &post-war manga sceneKotera Kyuho and Sakai Shichima : From ‘Osaka Puck’ to ‘New Treasure Island’ In response to the many requests, the duration of the exhibition has been extended from 8th to 13th. *The exhibited contents will be partly changed. The Kyoto International Manga Museum is honored to present the "Kotera Kyuho and Sakai Shichima : From 'Osaka Puck' to 'New Treasure Island'" introducing the works of manga artist Kotera Kyuho (1889-1962), and his pupil Sakai Shichima (1905-1969), who were preeminent figures in the pre-war and post-war manga scene. This exhibition will showcase their works while exploring the enormous role they played in the manga history of the Osaka and greater Kansai area.
L Exhibition SEE Yoro Takeshi & Miyazaki Hayao Duo Exhibition 2016年10月30日(日) 〜 11月27日(日) 17/7/7 10:00 〜 17/7/7 18:00 Kyoto International Manga Museum which was established by Kyoto city and Kyoto Seika University is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. With your support the museum had around 2.6 million visitors in this decade. To commemorating this anniversary we are holding an exhibition "Yoro Takeshi & Miyazaki Hayao Duo Exhibition". This exhibition will approach their private hobby by focusing on Yoro Takeshi's "insects" and Miyazaki Hayao's "fantasy" to introduce you to their "another world".
L Exhibition SEE DAGASHIKASHI Exhibition – Kyoto store 2016年9月17日(土) 〜 10月16日(日) This year the Kyoto International Manga Museum is again hosting content as the secondary venue for the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KyoMAF), and presents an exhibition of the comedy manga DAGASHIKASHI, a series set in a small candy store, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday since 2014. In the manga museum gallery there will be a reproduction of the candy store from the manga where you can take commemorative photos, as well as replicas of manga manuscripts and artwork on display.
