In response to the cancellation of the government emergency on Thursday, May 21, Kyoto International Manga Museum will re-open from June 1 (Mon) under the restrictions outlined below. Initially, admission will be limited to residents of Kyoto, and the museum will re-open to non-residents from June 19 (Fri).
Service changes
The following will temporarily be subject to closure and suspension of performances, etc.
・Kamishibai (picture show) →We will restart the performance from July 25.(2020/7/10)
・COSJOY →We will restart this event from July 19.(2020/7/10)
・Workshop
・Children’s library
The following will temporarily only operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Restrictions on visitor numbers
In order to prevent the spread of the virus due to a high number of visitors at one time, we might not let people enter the museum temporarily. Thanks for your understanding and for your cooperation.
Information for Museum Passport holders
For those who have a yearly passport for the museum that was valid between Feb 29 and May 31, 2020, you can use the passport for up to 4 months from the expiry date. E.g. a yearly passport that expired on May 31 will be valid until September 30.
Information for Invitation Ticket holders
Invitation tickets that were valid up to Apr 30, 2020, can be used for up to 3 months from their original expiry date. E.g. an invitation ticket that expired on April 30 will be valid until July 31.
The museum shop and café
These museum shop will be open during normal operating hours and the museum café will be open 10:00 – 18:00. We have prepared measures to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
