20th Anniversary Merchandise Now Available in Museum Shop

Starting October 1, coffee drip bags and letterpress postcards commemorating the museum’s 20th anniversary will be available at the museum shop.

"Giga Town: The Guide to Manga Iconography", a four-panel manga series by Kono Fumiyo, features characters inspired by a modern reinterpretation of the National Treasure "Choju-jinbutsu-giga" (held by Kosan-ji Temple). It explains the unique symbolic expressions used in manga—known as "manpu" (manga iconography) —through the medium of manga itself.

To commemorate our 20th anniversary, we've turned an original illustration created exclusively for the museum into museum merchandise. The adorable characters running around the museum reflect the visitors enjoying manga on the museum grounds.
