L Exhibition SEE FECO JAPAN Cartoon Exhibition 2017年2月24日(金) 〜 3月14日(火) The opportunity to see the world of single-panel manga is becoming increasingly less common in present-day Japan. In this exhibition we will showcase 60 works by 14 leading-edge manga artists from FECO JAPAN, which humorously depict each and every perspective of the hectic and changing modern society we live in, drawn in a single panel. Please come to experience the charm of single-panel manga.
L Exhibition SEE The exhibition focuses on the intrinsic acts of ‘drawing’!Exhibition: Drawing Manga! –Lines, Panels, Kyara [Second half] 2017/4/14(Fri)～5/14(Sun) This exhibition will feature works by 13 artists, showcasing roughly 300 pieces of original manga artwork (including some replicas, exhibited across two rotation periods). In addition to being a valuable opportunity to closely experience the outstanding artistic techniques used by manga artist, the exhibition also explores the unique Japanese cultural environment that nurtured them from ‘readers’ into ‘drawers.’ Furthermore, this will be the final venue for this exhibition which began at the Oita Prefectural Art Museum in August 2015, and has since been held in five locations around the country.

L Exhibition SEE Manga Exhibition for Whom? 2016年11月23日(水) 〜 2017年2月7日(火) In recent years, there have been more than 400 manga exhibitions held throughout Japan, to great popularity. Yet looking at the contents of the popular exhibitions, it cannot be denied that many of them are ‘manga exhibitions for manga fans.’ Exhibitions are not venues limited to fans and stakeholders, that they alone may have the opportunity to enjoy artwork. They are also venues for new fans and consumers to be born. In this exhibition we have experimented by asking the question ‘Manga Exhibition for Whom?’ That is, assuming visitors other than manga fans, we would like to consider together ‘what is the meaning and enjoyment gained through viewing manga in a museum exhibition?’
L Exhibition SEE LOVE♥RIBON♥FUROKU An exhibition of supplements to girls’ manga magazine Ribon 2016年12月8日(木) 〜 2017年2月5日(日) Ribon magazine reached shojo (girls') magazines highest circulation numbers ever, peaking at 2.55 million copies in 1994, a record that remains unbroken. Ribon magazine has led the way. In this exhibition we will focus on the furoku from the period that enchanted those 2.5 million girls, as the pivotal axis from which to follow the changes in furoku culture from the dawn of Ribon to the present day.
L Exhibition SEE A master artist and pupil pivotal to the Kansai pre-war &post-war manga sceneKotera Kyuho and Sakai Shichima : From ‘Osaka Puck’ to ‘New Treasure Island’ In response to the many requests, the duration of the exhibition has been extended from 8th to 13th. *The exhibited contents will be partly changed. The Kyoto International Manga Museum is honored to present the "Kotera Kyuho and Sakai Shichima : From 'Osaka Puck' to 'New Treasure Island'" introducing the works of manga artist Kotera Kyuho (1889-1962), and his pupil Sakai Shichima (1905-1969), who were preeminent figures in the pre-war and post-war manga scene. This exhibition will showcase their works while exploring the enormous role they played in the manga history of the Osaka and greater Kansai area.

With your support the museum had around 2.6 million visitors in this decade. To commemorating this anniversary we are holding an exhibition "Yoro Takeshi & Miyazaki Hayao Duo Exhibition". This exhibition will approach their private hobby by focusing on Yoro Takeshi's "insects" and Miyazaki Hayao's "fantasy" to introduce you to their "another world".
L Exhibition SEE DAGASHIKASHI Exhibition – Kyoto store 2016年9月17日(土) 〜 10月16日(日) This year the Kyoto International Manga Museum is again hosting content as the secondary venue for the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KyoMAF), and presents an exhibition of the comedy manga DAGASHIKASHI, a series set in a small candy store, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday since 2014. In the manga museum gallery there will be a reproduction of the candy store from the manga where you can take commemorative photos, as well as replicas of manga manuscripts and artwork on display.
P Exhibition SEE What is Manga? “What is Manga?” exhibition at the main gallery on the second floor seeks to answer questions that visitors may have from multiple perspectives. It explains manga's history and social significance in each categories. In addition, the walls of which are covered in bookshelves that are filled mainly with popular and influential manga from 1945 to 2005, arranged by year (based on Gendai Manga Hakubutsukan, 2006, Shogakukan).
